Grandma Sally's Crunch

10 cups cereal (any kind you like)

1 cup raisins (optional)

1 cup mixed nuts (optional)

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 1/2 cups white Karo syrup

1 cup and 2 Tbsp margarine or butter

1 Tbsp. vanilla

 

Combine dry ingredients in bowl and set aside. Bring sugar, karo syrup and margarin/butter to a boil.  Once the mixture is bubbling, time it for two minutes and stir constantly.  Take off heat and add vanilla.  Pour over cereal mixture and stir everything together.  Spread on wax paper and let cool overnight.

 

(We got lazy and left it in the bowl). So yummy!
